  • Seven Indians earn postseason football honors

    Seven members of the Itawamba Community College football program earned Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) All-State honors while two also received National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-Region recognition when the league announced its postseason awards Monday.

    The Indians (6-3, 5-1 MACJC) earned a share of the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) North Division title after picking up a 61-16 win over Holmes Community College (6-3, 3-3 MACJC North) on Saturday. ICC missed out on the playoffs due to the MACJC tiebreaking system.

    FULTON, Miss. – For the second-straight week, the ICC football team suffered a heartbreaking loss in the final seconds of the game. After a deflected two-point conversion pass in their 42-41 season opening loss at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, the Indians fell to Hinds Community College, 35-31, in front of a packed house on Thursday.

  • Legendary football coach Ben Jones passes away

    The Monroe County native was head football coach at ICC from 1973 to 1975. His 1975 state championship team still holds the record for being the only team to go undefeated in school history. He finished with a 22-9-1 record.
