JW Armistead named MACCC Pitcher of the Week
For the second time this season, ICC’s JW Armistead of Mooreville has been named Pitcher of the Week by the MACCC.
Fulton, Miss. – For the second time this season, Itawamba Community College's JW Armistead of Mooreville has been named Pitcher of the Week by the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC).
The freshman right hander had an impressive showing last week, helping the Indians (30-10, 17-7 MACCC) pick up the sweep of Hinds Community College.
Armistead threw a complete game one-hitter and struck out eight in the Indians' 2-0 game two win over Hinds Saturday.
This season, Armistead has a 2.94 earned run average and 68 strikeouts, which is fourth best in the conference prior to Tuesday's games.
The Indians face Northwest Mississippi Community College for a doubleheader in Senatobia starting at 3 p.m. today and will wrap up the regular season Friday at Jones College.
