Nine RBI, One Record: Caviness Earns MACCC Player of the Week

FULTON, Miss. – Will Caviness turned one afternoon into a highlight reel and the MACCC noticed. The sophomore was named MACCC Baseball Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday, after a week that featured a record-setting nine-RBI eruption in the Indians' 18-8 win over Dyersburg State, a modern-era single-game program mark.
The Ripley native did not stop there. Caviness wrapped the week hitting .583 with a .706 on-base percentage and a 1.250 slugging percentage. He piled up seven hits in 12 at-bats, including two doubles and two home runs, one of them a grand slam. He also drew five walks and struck out just once, keeping the line moving and the damage coming.
ICC is back at Roy Cresap Field on Thursday, hosting Lake Land College in a 2 p.m. doubleheader.
