Coach Sean Cannon welcomed 25 incoming football players to the ICC Family during the first two days of National Signing Day.
The ICC football program has scheduled a tryout date at Eaton Field on the Fulton Campus on Feb. 10.
The MACCC Commissioner’s office released the All-Conference teams Friday with 10 Indians receiving honors, and two named as MVP at their position.
Dylan Faulk was named Offensive Player of the Week, and Shane Lasher earned the Special Teams Player of the Week honor.
ICC wrapped up the regular season with a 52-9 win over Holmes.
The annual rivalry between ICC and Northeast went in favor of the visiting Tigers, as they picked up a 31-21 win.
The ICC and Northeast game has been rescheduled for Nov. 12.
“Our top priority remains to be the safety and well-being of our students, faculty and staff,” said ICC President Dr. Jay Allen. “We are continuing to follow all protocols put in place to make sure everyone is in the best situation possible, and we will not compromise anyone’s health.”
ICC has selected its Athletic Hall of Fame inductees for 2020. The honorees include Kenneth “Kebo” Davis of Okolona and Tyson Lee of Germantown, Tenn..
ICC’s Tekoy Randolph was named Football Defensive Player of the Week by the MACCC for his performance in the Indians’ road win Saturday.
Itawamba Community College is postponing its football game against Mississippi Delta Community College originally scheduled for Saturday due to a positive case of COVID-19 that through contact tracing led to quarantining a segment of ICC’s team.
ICC (1-2, 1-2 MACCC North) survived five turnovers Saturday afternoon and forced Coahoma (1-2, 1-2 MACCC North) to turn the ball over four times in a 19-14 road win over the Tigers.
“We understand and appreciate the situation that Mississippi Delta is faced with coming out of quarantine,” said ICC President Dr. Jay Allen. “While the situation isn’t ideal, we wanted to go the extra mile since Delta’s previous games have been postponed to help their players have the best opportunity to be scouted to possibly extend their educational opportunities through future athletic scholarships.”
Due to a decision by the MACCC Commissioner Steve Martin, the ICC football schedule has been adjusted.
A road trip to Hinds Community College has been added to the Itawamba Community College football schedule for Thursday, October 22, in Raymond.
ICC’s energetic and hard fought comeback came up just short Thursday night, with the hosting Northwest Rangers escaping with a 16-14 victory on a blocked field goal as time expired.
