Gray earns NJCAA Defensive Player of the Week
Sophomore defensive back Orel Gray has been named National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division I Football Defensive Player of the Week.
FULTON, Miss. – Sophomore defensive back Orel Gray has been named National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division I Football Defensive Player of the Week.
The Jacksonville Fla. native delivered two game-changing plays in ICC's 23-14 road victory over East Central last Thursday. Gray recorded two tackles, including a sack, forced and recovered a fumble and capped the night with an interception after tipping a pass to himself.
In addition to the national honor, Gray was also recognized as the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC) Defensive Player of the Week for his performance.
The Indians (1-2, 0-0 MACCC) will be back in action on Thursday, Sept. 18, to open conference play against No. 12 East Mississippi (2-1, 1-0 MACCC). The game will also be All-American Heroes Night at Eaton Field.
