Burciaga named NJCAA Special Teams Player of the Week
Eli Burciaga has been named National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division I Football Special Teams Player of the Week, according to an announcement on Wednesday.
FULTON, Miss. – Eli Burciaga has been named National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division I Football Special Teams Player of the Week, according to an announcement on Wednesday.
The sophomore kicker from Corinth played a pivotal role in ICC's 34-24 victory over No. 12 East Mississippi last Thursday, delivering a perfect night in the kicking game. Burciaga went 2-for-2 on field goals, including a 48-yarder that gave the Indians a 20-17 lead early in the fourth quarter. He also converted all four extra-point attempts, finishing with 10 of ICC's 34 points
Along with the national honor, Burciaga was also recognized as the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC) Special Teams Player of the Week.
The Indians (2-2, 1-0 MACCC) return to action Thursday, Sept. 25, when they travel to Moorhead to take on the Mississippi Delta Trojans (0-4, 0-1 MACCC). The Guaranty Bank kickoff is set for 7 p.m., with the Metro Ford Pregame Show starting at 6:30 on SuperTalk 101.9 FM and LetsGoICCTV.com/red.
