FULTON, MS – Itawamba community college sophomore guard Austin Timms signed a National Letter of Intent to continue his basketball career at the University of North Alabama on Wednesday.
"It feels great," said Timms. "It's an honor to continue playing basketball, something I love. I'm blessed to be able to keep playing."
Timms was named to the MACJC All-Star squad and earned second team MACJC All-State honors after he averaged 10.1 points, 6.3 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 1.2 steals per game and started all 23 games in his final season with Coach Grant Pate and Coach Adam Kirk.

"It's been a blessing to play under them," said Timms, who shot 52-percent from the floor and was a 71.4-percent free throw shooter. "They have really taught me a lot and I really enjoyed playing here (ICC). It's been a great two years."
The Mooreville native helped lead the Indians to a MACJC Championship and to the quarterfinals of the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament in his freshman campaign.
"He has been a tremendous asset to our program," said Pate. "As a student-athlete, he's been great in the classroom, keeping a high grade point average, and he's been a leader on and off the court. We are excited about him moving on the North Alabama and we look forward to following his career there."
Timms is the second Indians to continue his career joining Tyrone Wooten (Memphis) who signed with Louisiana-Lafayette during the season.
