FULTON, Miss. — Despite a 29-point performance from Damarion Winston and a strong first half, the Indians fell 86–75 to Shelton State on Thursday.
ICC led 45–42 at halftime behind efficient play from their starting unit, but the Bucs used a 44-point second half and 14 made three-pointers to pull away late.
Winston powered ICC with 10 field goals, three three-pointers and a 6-for-9 mark at the free-throw line while adding six rebounds and three assists. Jaden Harper posted nine points, seven rebounds and two blocks. Tim Holiday supplied 13 points off the bench, knocking down three three-pointers to help keep the Indians within reach.
The Indians finished at 45.8 percent from the field and assisted on 21 of its 27 made baskets, but the Buccaneers' perimeter shooting surge proved decisive in the final 20 minutes.
