FULTON, Miss. – Itawamba Community College men's basketball team is headed to the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament after a regular season that reestablished the Indians as one of the nation's most consistent teams.
ICC finished the regular season 22-6 overall and 13-1 in MACCC play, capturing the MACCC Championship for the first time since the 2013-14 season. The Indians enter the postseason ranked No. 25 in the country.
ICC earned a first-round bye and will host the winner of the No. 8 vs. No. 9 matchup between Northwest (18-11) and Shreveport (17-10) at 4 p.m. Saturday, March 7. With a win, the Indians would continue postseason play at home with the next rounds of Region 23.
The numbers behind the run show a team that won with balance and efficiency. ICC averaged 77.6 points per game while shooting 46.2% from the field, 34.4% from 3 and 72.5% at the free throw line. The Indians also controlled the glass at 37.2 rebounds per game and piled up 17.4 assists per contest.
Damarion Winston has been the engine all season, leading ICC at 15.4 points per game while also pacing the team at 6.1 assists per game. Winston added 4.7 rebounds per game and shot 42.5% from the floor. His season has started to draw national attention as well, with JucoRecruiting.com listing him No. 85 on its initial "2026 JUCO Top 100" rankings.
Tim Holliday has provided a steady scoring punch and perimeter spacing, averaging 13.7 points per game while shooting 38.5% from 3 and 82.7% at the line. DJ Davis has been right there with 13.1 points per game and a 39.3% mark from beyond the arc, while Jaden Harper has added 10.9 points per game with 54 made 3-pointers on the year.
Inside, Kyler Fox has been a difference-maker around the rim and on the boards, averaging 7.5 points and a team-best 7.8 rebounds per game while shooting 71.2% from the field. Jason Johnson has chipped in 5.1 points per game and 4.6 rebounds per game, helping ICC maintain physicality and second-chance pressure.
Fox and Holliday also landed on the initial release of the 2026 Fab 50 JUCO Freshmen list by JucoRecruiting.com, a national recognition piece highlighting top first-year junior college players across the country.
Now the focus turns to March, with ICC opening Region 23 play at home Saturday and a postseason path that keeps everything in front of the Indians as they chase a deeper run.
