FULTON, Miss. – Taylor Boggs is taking the next step in his coaching career after four seasons leading the Itawamba Community College golf program.
Boggs, who has served as ICC's head golf coach since 2022, is stepping down to become the assistant golf coach at Austin Peay State University.
During his time in Fulton, Boggs helped move the Indians' golf program forward while developing players for opportunities beyond the junior college level. Under his leadership, five ICC golfers advanced to continue their careers at the next level, while three players qualified for NJCAA Regionals as individuals.
"Taylor has played a meaningful role in our golf program and in the development of many of our student-athletes during his time at ICC," ICC Athletic Director Dr. Chad Case said.
Before arriving at ICC, Boggs served as an assistant coach at Delta State University from 2018 to 2020. During his time with the Statesmen, he helped coach Zack Zediker, who won the Jack Nicklaus Award, one of college golf's top individual honors.
Boggs also brought a strong playing background to ICC. He competed collegiately at the University of Louisiana Monroe from 2011 to 2013 after a standout junior and high school career. Boggs earned multiple wins on the MJGA and Coca-Cola Junior Tours and posted several top-five finishes on the SJGT, Hurricane Junior Tour and Arrowhead Junior Tour.
A decorated high school golfer, Boggs was a three-time 4-A Golf State Champion, winning titles in 2007, 2009 and 2010, while finishing as runner-up in 2011.
"I have learned so much during these four years at ICC, and I am grateful for the experience," Boggs said. "ICC will always hold a special place in my heart."
ICC President Dr. Jay Allen said ICC appreciates Boggs' contributions during his time with the college and is supportive of him as he advances professionally.
"We appreciate Coach Boggs' service to ICC," Allen said. "We look forward to seeing what the future holds for him professionally as he takes this next step in his career at Austin Peay."
ICC's search for its next head golf coach will begin immediately.
