Poplarville, Miss. – Big saves preserve 4-0 shutout victory for Pearl River Friday afternoon.
In their final game before starting North Division play, the Indians (1-2) had some big scoring chances, but Pearl River's keeper was able to make the big saves to keep the Tribe off the board.
Indians attacked early but an impressive save kept the game scoreless and a diving save on a scoring chance from Wes Rollins (Columbus) early in the second half proved to be big as the Wildcats scored four unanswered goals.
The first goal of the game came at the 35th minute and then two goals in a 10 minute stretch in the second half. The game's final goal came at the 86th minute.
No rest for the Indians, who will have a quick turnaround as they begin North Division play Monday. In the first division matchup, the Indians will travel to Hinds with kickoff set for 7 p.m. in Raymond.
