Raymond, Miss. – The Indians went on the road to open North Division play Friday and came home with a 3-1 win over Hinds.
In what is always an intense battle, the Indians (2-2, 1-0 MACCC North) and Eagles were scoreless though the first half, but the scoreless affair was broken at the 49th minute by Hinds.
The Indians were down but Wes Rollins (Columbus) was able to net the equalizer off an assist from Jose Villenueva (Maylene, Ala.) at the 57th minute.
Four minutes later, Villenueva would beat the keeper off an assist from Billy Gipp (London, England) to give the Indians a 2-1 advantage.
In the final minutes of the contest, the Indians would pick up an insurance goal as Gipp picked up his second assists of the game. Gipp connected with Anthony Jones (Oxford), who outran the Eagle's defenders and shook the keeper to extend the lead to 3-1.
Corbin Martin (Amory) picked up four saves to help secure the victory.
The Indians return to action Tuesday when they host East Central for another North Division match. The opening kick is scheduled for 4 p.m. in Fulton.
