WESSON, MS - The ICC men's tennis team opened the season with an impress 9-0 win over Copiah-Lincoln Community College on Friday.
No. 1 doubles Nathan Pinkley (Southaven) and Austin McElwain (Corinth) got the Indians (1-0) off on the right foot with an 8-1 win over Graham Watson and Dwain Perkins.
No. 2 Cody Coins (Millington, TN) and David McElwain (Corinth) along with No. 3 Caleb Ballard (Shannon) and Drew Ballard (Tupelo) both netted 8-3 wins in the doubles matches.
No. 3 David McElwain defeated Watson in straight sets 6-0; 6-0 as the Indians swept through singles play.
No. 1 Pinkey beat Prekins 6-1; 6-2, No. 2 Austin McElwain won 6-1; 6-3 over Brock Smith, No. 4 Coins defeated Nettles 6-2; 6-0, No. 5 Joseph Summer (Amory) won 6-1; 6-0 over Carraway and No. 6 Jordan Trice (Shannon) won 6-1; 6-1 over Steve Delcid.
