Indians set for NJCAA National Tennis Championships

FULTON, MS – The Indians will take the court next week as the Indians compete in the NJCAA Division I Men's Tennis Championship, scheduled for May 12-16 at the Dr. Eddie Floyd Tennis Center in Florence, South Carolina.
The Indians enter the tournament ranked No. 17 in the nation following a strong showing at the Region 23 Tournament, where they defeated Northwest Mississippi 5-1 in the third-place match to qualify for nationals.
ICC built early momentum with a 2-1 advantage after doubles play, highlighted by an 8-5 win from Joan Mateu Ramis Pascual and Knox Waterer at No. 1 and an 8-1 victory from Jack Semper and Luca Hoffman at No. 2.
Ramis Pascual, recently named to the MACCC All-Conference Team, added to his standout season with a dominant 6-0, 6-2 singles win at the top spot. The Manacor, Spain native enters the national tournament with a 12-3 singles record and is ranked 39th nationally. In doubles, he and Waterer have compiled a 10-5 record against top competition.
Also contributing to the win over Northwest were Semper at No. 3 singles, posting a 6-2, 6-1 victory, and Santiago Diaz at No. 4 with a 6-1, 6-2 win. The remaining matches were left unfinished after ICC secured the team win.
