FULTON, Miss. – Lizzie Meeks has been named the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC) Softball Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season, the conference announced Tuesday.
Meeks turned in a dominant week inside the circle, leading the Indians to a pair of key victories.
In a 3-1 road win at Northwest, Meeks went the distance while allowing just one run on four hits. She struck out seven batters and worked around four walks to secure the victory.
She followed that outing with another complete-game effort in a 4-2 win over No. 15 Hinds. Meeks was even more impressive in the circle, surrendering just two runs on three hits while recording a season-high 12 strikeouts with no walks allowed.
Meeks currently holds a 2.57 earned run average and is tied with fellow pitcher Ramsey Montgomery for the team lead with nine wins on the season.
No. 13 ICC will be back in action on Saturday, March 28, when they travel to Summit for a doubleheader against Southwest, starting at 1 p.m.
