Indians Climb to No. 13 in NJCAA Division II Poll

FULTON, Miss. – The Itawamba Community College softball team has moved up one spot to No. 13 in this week's National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II Top 25 rankings, the NJCAA announced Monday.
The Indians, ranked No. 14 last week, opened the final month of the regular season on an impressive note.
ICC began with a dominant sweep of East Mississippi, cruising to a 17-0 victory in game one before securing a 2-1 walk-off win in game two. The Indians followed with a split against then-No. 1 Pearl River, highlighted by a dramatic game one victory. AB Marlar delivered a three-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning, lifting ICC to a 4-1 walk-off win. Pearl River responded with a 6-3 win in game two to earn the split.
Marlar leads ICC offensively, batting .439 with 40 runs batted in and 13 home runs. Kaylin Lynch is hitting .338 on the season, while Taylar Shands adds 36 RBI and nine home runs.
In the circle, Ramsey Montgomery holds a 1.81 earned run average with 167 strikeouts, while Lizzie Meeks owns a 2.46 ERA and leads the team with 13 wins. Montgomery follows closely with 10 victories, while Meeks has recorded 96 strikeouts.
No. 13 ICC will be back in action on Tuesday, April 7, when they travel to Clarksdale to take on Coahoma for a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.
