No. 14 Indians Have Four Named All-MACCC
Four Itawamba Community College softball players have been honored with postseason recognition from the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC).
FULTON, Miss. – Four Itawamba Community College softball players have been honored with postseason recognition from the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC). Victoria Fields and Ramsey Montgomery were named Second Team while Lizzie Meeks and AB Marlar were named Honorable Mention.
Fields turned in a strong season at the plate, batting .340 with 32 RBI and four home runs. She also scored 44 runs and stole nine bases for the Indians. She went 2-for-3 at the plate with two RBI in ICC's 17-0 win over East Mississippi on March 31. In left field, she posted a .962 fielding percentage with 50 putouts on 53 total chances.
Montgomery made history in the circle, setting the modern-day program record with 205 strikeouts in a single season while posting a 14-8 record and a 2.39 earned run average. She recorded 19 strikeouts in a complete-game shutout against Gulf Coast on March 6, leading ICC to a 1-0 victory and earning MACCC Pitcher of the Week honors. Montgomery later collected a second MACCC Pitcher of the Week award and was also named NJCAA Division II Pitcher of the Week.
Marlar led the Indians offensively with a .432 batting average, 52 RBI and 16 home runs. The Kossuth native delivered one of the season's signature moments against then-No. 1 Pearl River, blasting a walk-off three-run homer in game one to secure a 4-1 victory for ICC. The performance earned her MACCC Player of the Week honors. Marlar also set the modern-day program record for most home runs in a single season.
Meeks added another dominant presence in the pitching staff, finishing the year with 119 strikeouts, 14 wins and a 2.32 ERA. She earned MACCC Pitcher of the Week honors twice and was named NJCAA Division II Pitcher of the Week once during the season. One of her top performances came on March 21 against then-No. 15 Hinds, when she struck out 12 batters in a 4-2 ICC victory.
The Indians wrapped up the 2026 season with a 35-17 overall record and a 17-11 mark in MACCC play. ICC climbed as high as No. 10 in the NJCAA Division II rankings during the season and earned a berth in the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament.
