Lady Indians ice-cold shooting leads to first division loss of the year
Sophomore Ty-Nita Baker (Houston) scored a team-high 15 points, but the Itawamba Community College Lady Indians only made 32-percent from the floor in their 78-55 North Division loss to the Northwest Mississippi Community College Lady Rangers on Saturday.

FULTON, MS – Sophomore Ty-Nita Baker (Houston) scored a team-high 15 points, but the Itawamba Community College Lady Indians only made 32-percent from the floor in their 78-55 North Division loss to the Northwest Mississippi Community College Lady Rangers on Saturday.
"We got good looks, but we couldn't get anything to fall," said ICC head coach Nanci Gray. "Northwest played one of their best games of the year and we couldn't find a way to cool off their hot shooting or get any stops on defense."
Northwest (11-3, 2-1 MACJC North) shot 59-percent from the floor, including hitting on 44-percent from three. The Lady Indians (9-6, 3-1 MACJC North) only managed to connect on 12-percent from behind the arch.
"I feel like our cold shooting led to a lot of frustrations that carried over to how we played defense," Gray commented. "Credit Northwest, they saw we were on our heels and they took it to us."
Jasmine Hampton (Bruce) finished with 11 points while fellow sophomore Ashley Wiley (Jackson) added 10 in the loss.
