SCOOBA, MS – Sophomore Jayla Chills (Ripley) dropped a game-high 33 points on East Mississippi to help the Lady Indians remain perfect in North Division play with a 71-61 win over the Lady Lions on Tuesday.
The Lady Indians (14-2, 5-0 MACJC North) fell behind by 11 in the first half before rallying to take a 33-29 lead at the break after Chills buried a three in the closing seconds of the first half.
The Lady Lions (7-7, 3-2 MACJC North) clawed their way back into the game, 57-52, with 3:52 left to play before Chills put the game on ice with her third three pointer of the game to push ICC's lead back out to 10 before going 4-for-4 from the charity stripe in the final 1:25 of the contest.
Reigning MACJC Women's Player of the Week Kaelin Kneeland (Olive Branch) recorded her 11th double-double of the season by scoring 12 points and collecting 13 rebounds with Jeronia Allen (Minden,LA) adding 11 points in the win.
Ki-Ki Patterson led East Mississippi with 17 points.
Chills' 33-point performance matched a career-high for the second-straight outing and helped extend the Lady Indians' win streak to nine-consecutive games.
ICC will return to the Davis Event Center on Thursday to host Mississippi Delta for the college's second annual Pack the House Night. The Lady Indians will tip at 6:00 and the Indians will follow at 8:00 p.m.
