Shayla Golden signs with West Alabama

Fulton, Miss. – Itawamba Community College sophomore Shayla Golden has signed to continue her student-athlete career at the University of West Alabama (Livingston, Ala.).

The Jacksonville, Ark. native split time at guard and forward for the Lady Indians (12-12) and led the team with 177 total rebounds (7.4 per game).

In 24 games, Golden shot a team-high 51.2 percent from the field and was second on the team with 203 points, an average of 8.5 points per game. 

Golden also had 20 steals, 17 assists and 15 blocks to help the Lady Indians reach the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 23 Tournament. 

She will join the Tigers, who compete in the Gulf South Conference.
