Howell signs with MS Valley State
Sophomore guard Addison Howell has signed to continue her basketball career at Mississippi Valley State University.
FULTON, Miss. – Sophomore guard Addison Howell has signed to continue her basketball career at Mississippi Valley State University.
The Olive Branch native recorded 185 points along with 49 assists and 41 steals while leading the Lady Indians to a 23-6 record and an appearance in the NJCAA Region 23 semifinals. She also recorded a career-best 18-point performance in the Lady Indians' 95-53 win at Huntingdon College.
Howell spoke about the past two years and stated that her time at ICC "has been wonderful."
"I just want to thank my coaches for the opportunity to be here, thank my teammates for helping push through here. It's just been a wonderful experience," Howell said.
When talking about moving on to the next level at Mississippi Valley State, Howell feels that ICC has well-prepared her.
"I feel very confident about moving to the next level. The process has made it easy, simple and straightforward, and I'm really excited to go there," Howell added.
ICC women's basketball head coach Robin Porter commented on Howell's decision and expressed how excited she is for her.
"Addison is a hard worker - Valley is getting a great kid, on and off the court, and I am excited about what she will bring to the next level," Porter said.
Howell joins the Devilettes that compete in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) and are a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I member.
