Lockett Named MACCC Women’s Basketball Player of the Year
ICC sophomore guard Tootie Lockett has been recognized as the top player in the conference, as she was named the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC) Women’s Basketball Player of the Year.
FULTON, Miss. — ICC sophomore guard Tootie Lockett has been recognized as the top player in the conference, as she was named the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC) Women's Basketball Player of the Year on Wednesday.
The Starkville native turned in one of the most complete performances in the league this year, leading the Lady Indians with 15 points per game while serving as a key playmaker and defensive presence. She finished the season with 83 assists and 44 steals, showcasing her ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor.
One of Lockett's most impressive outings came on Feb. 26, when she poured in a career-high 29 points in an 84-46 victory over Holmes. In addition to being named Player of the Year, Lockett also earned First Team All-MACCC honors.
The Lady Indians finished the 2025-26 season with a 22-8 overall record with a 12-2 mark in MACCC play and an appearance in the Region 23 semifinals.
