Robin Porter
Head Women’s Basketball Coach

Robin Porter has been the head women’s basketball coach at Itawamba Community College since 2019, following nearly a decade as an assistant coach at ICC from 2010 to 2018. As head coach, Porter led the team to the MACCC Conference Runner-Up finish and NJCAA Region 23 Championship in the 2024–25 season.

During her time as assistant coach, the ICC women’s basketball program won three NJCAA Region 23 Championships (2013, 2015, 2016), the MACJC State Championship in 2012, and qualified for the NJCAA National Tournament three times. She earned multiple coaching honors, including Conference Coaching Staff of the Year (2019–20), MACCC North Division Co-Champions (2020–21), and MACCC Co-Conference Champions (2020–21). Porter was named NJCAA Region 23 Coach of the Year and Gulf District Coach of the Year for the 2024–25 season.

As a player, Porter had an outstanding career at Abbeville High School, where she was named 3A State Player of the Year in 2005, three-time Super 12 Player of the Year (2003–2005), and 3A State Champion in 2004. She was MVP of the Alabama All-Star Game South in 2005 and was nominated for both the McDonald’s All-American and Wendy’s High School Heisman awards.

At Mississippi State University (2005–2009), Porter earned SEC All-Freshmen Team honors and was a four-time All-SEC Academic Team member. She led MSU in rebounds during the 2005–06 and 2008–09 seasons.

Porter is the daughter of Emily and Billy Porter and has four siblings, including brother Chris Porter, a former All-American men’s basketball player at Auburn University.

She holds a master’s degree in exercise science (2010) and a bachelor’s degree in clinical exercise physiology (2008), both from Mississippi State University.
