Lady Indians announce 2019 schedule

FULTON, Miss. – Coach David Strother's Lady Indians are coming off a strong season and expect to improve in 2019.

Last season, the Lady Indians went 9-5-1, finishing second in the North Division and hosting a conference quarterfinal match.

The Lady Indians will return their two leading scorers from a year ago in Grace Joyce (Oxford) and Sarah Whitt (Pontotoc). Also returning is West Georgia commit Ally Shinall (Oxford), who led the team in assists last season.

To start the 2019 campaign, the Lady Indians will take on ASA-Miami in Ellisville on Aug. 24 and then head down to Summit to face Southwest Mississippi Community College the following day.

The Lady Indians' first home game will be Aug. 27 when they host Southwest Tennessee Community College, and they will open North Division play two days later at Holmes Community College.

After the road date at Holmes, the Lady Indians will host Hinds and East Central for division contests and will wrap up the first half of division play at Northwest on Sept 10.

A home game against Mississippi Gulf Coast and road games against Columbia State (Tenn.) and with Dyersburg State (Tenn.) in the RUSH Tournament in Meridian, the Lady Indians will have a three-game home stand from Sept. 24 to Oct. 1 facing Pearl River, Motlow State (Tenn.) and Holmes.

The Lady Indians will then have two straight division road games at Hinds and East Central before returning home on  Oct. 11 to wrap up division play against Northwest.

To close out the regular season, the Lady Indians will face Southwest Tennessee on the road and then host Meridian in the season finale on Oct. 18.
