Fulton, Miss. - In a battle between the teams and the weather, the Itawamba Community College women's soccer team defeated Hinds Community College 3-0 in a weather shortened contest.
The Lady Indians ( 3-1) had numerous scoring opportunities early in the contest and Beth Lloyd (Failsworth, England) took advantage of those early chances, scoring her fifth and sixth goals of the season at the ninth and 22nd minutes.
Brianna Huckaby (Saltillo) netted her fourth goal of the season at the 27th minute off an assist by Macey Riggs (Hernando).
The Lady Indians had a great scoring chance in the second half despite the rain, but lightning forced the teams off the field and into a delay.
Once the teams returned to the field, neither team were able to find the back of the net and the Lady Indians three first half goals proved to be enough for the win.
The Lady Indians will travel to Winchester, Tenn. Monday to face Motlow State Community College at 4 p.m.
