Creekmore Takes Over ICC Tennis Programs
Maggie Creekmore has been named the new head coach of the Itawamba Community College men’s and women’s tennis programs.
FULTON, Miss. – Maggie Creekmore has been named the new head coach of the Itawamba Community College men's and women's tennis programs.
Creekmore takes over both programs after serving as an assistant coach under Michael Metz. She joined the coaching staff in 2024 and helped guide both the men's and women's programs to NJCAA tournaments in 2025.
"This is an exciting day for ICC and for our tennis programs," ICC President Dr. Jay Allen said. "Maggie represents so much of what makes Itawamba Community College special. She came through our program as a student-athlete, continued to grow academically and professionally, then returned to invest in the next generation of student-athletes. We are proud to see her step into this leadership role and excited about the future of ICC tennis under her direction."
Creekmore's connection to ICC tennis began as a player. She competed for the ICC women's tennis team in 2019 and helped the Indians reach the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament before earning her associate degree from ICC in 2020.
After continuing her education, Creekmore returned to Fulton as part of Metz's staff and helped contribute to the championship success of both programs.
"Maggie has been a valuable part of our tennis program as former player and as assistant coach," ICC Athletic Director Dr. Chad Case said. "She understands ICC, she understands the standard that has been built here and she knows what it takes to help student-athletes grow on the court, in the classroom and as people. Her experience and passion for this college and this program, makes her a great fit to lead our tennis teams."
For Creekmore, the opportunity to lead the programs she once represented as a student-athlete carries special meaning.
"ICC has been such a special place in my life. I am grateful to Dr. Allen, Dr. Boggs, Dr. Case, and the committee for believing in me and in my vision for our program. I am excited to continue working with student-athletes who want to compete, grow, and represent this college to uphold our legacy. I'm honored to follow great coaches like Coach [Paul] Johnson and Coach Metz. Coach Metz built a strong foundation, and I am committed to continuing to develop it for our players and ICC."
Creekmore earned her bachelor's degree in history from the University of Mississippi in 2022 and her master's degree in history from Mississippi State University in 2024.
