Ray Williams, who is starting his second year at ICC
as defensive line and strength and conditioning coach, earned the
bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of
Tennessee-Martin, where he played football from
He is currently working on a master's degree in physical education. At UT-Martin, he was a two-year all-conference selection as well as a TSN All-American (The Sporting News).
Williams served as graduate assistant at UT-Martin, where he worked with the defensive line for two years, and at the University of West Alabama where he worked with both the defensive line and linebackers for the 2011 spring semester.
The Dempoplos, Alabama native set an American record by squatting 903 pounds at the USAPL Southern Raw Championships in Hattiesburg, MS. His total lift of 2,177 pounds also set an American record during the meet. Both amounts are unofficial world records and will be made official when he competes in the World Championships next summer in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Ray has two sons, Tae'Sean and Daniel and one daughter, SaRaya.
