Poplarville, Miss. – In their second meeting, the Itawamba Community College men's soccer program, and No. 9 Pearl River Community College had an intense conference battle, with the Indians dropping a 3-2 decision.
The Indians (5-3-2, 2-2-1 MACCC) found the back of the net first in the contest when Ian Thomas (Southaven) scored his fifth goal this season and giving the Indians an early 1-0 lead at the 27th minute.
At the 31st minute, Maryo Elsheikh (Bartlett, Tenn.) extended the Indians lead to 2-0 on his second goal this season.
The Indians would hold the 2-0 advantage through halftime, but the Wildcats answered with goals at the 54th and 69th minute's to tie the contest at 2-2.
As the game continued, it appeared as if overtime was in the cards, but the Wildcats scored the game winning goal at the 86th minute.
The Indians have another tough conference showdown Friday when they host No. 2 Jones College. Opening kick is scheduled for 3 p.m. and will be available on LetsGoICCTV.com/red.
