Fulton, Miss. – The No. 18 Lady Indians picked up their first win of the young season Wednesday by defeating Southwest, 3-0.
Sophomore Ashley Stevens (Amory) led the Lady Indians scoring two goals including the Lady Indians first of the season 14 minutes into the contest.
Stevens scored the game's last goal not long after Morgan Mitchell (Amory) netted her first colligate goal at the 56th minute.
Keeper's Anna Wesleigh Driskell (Tupelo) and Anna Kate Trost (Oxford) combined to secure the shutout win and the Lady Indians improve to 1-1.
Friday, the Lady Indians will face their first road test of the regular season when they travel to Pearl River, which will be their final tune up game before North Division play begins. The game is scheduled to start at 2:00 p.m. in Poplarville and will be available on PRCCMedia.com/Gold
