Former ICC baseball star Will Verdung was recently named the Mississippi Baseball Coaches Association (MSBCA) Junior College Player of the Year.
Itawamba Community College’s Will Verdung of Corinth was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the 13th round, 399 overall pick, in the 2023 Major League Baseball Draft Tuesday afternoon.
Will Verdung was selected to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Second Team on Monday. The Corinth native led the Indians in seven offensive categories with a .389 batting average, .484 on-base percentage, .706 slugging percentage, 70 hits, 65 RBI, 32 walks, and 15 home runs in 49 games during his sophomore season.
