"We are always excited for our players when they sign to play after graduating from ICC,” said ICC women’s basketball coach Nanci Gray. “Vechatita is one of those players that can make exciting things happen for a team and I know she will be a great addition to William Carey basketball program."
“It feels good,” said Collins. “I’m very happy to be part of the team and excited to get the season started. ICC is a great fit for me because I feel like I can focus on what I want to with my life both on and off the court.”
“When I went on my visit I felt really welcomed and knew that’s where I wanted to be,” Bonner said about Montevallo. “My time here at ICC was great and I wish I could stay longer, but I look forward to this new chapter in my life.”
“Presley has an abundance of experience as a guard and being a leader on the team playing point guard for four-straight years,” said Walnut head basketball coach Lady Tribble. “Itawamba has always had a lot of outstanding players and I feel like she will fit in well with the program.”

The Lady Indians defeated Holmes Community College 62-53 in the semifinal round of the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament on Friday.
Jameika Hoskins had a game-high 15 point as four other players scored in double figures as the Lady Indians defeated Coahoma 77-48 to advance to Friday's semifinals of the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament.
Jameika Hoskins (Aberdeen HS) and LaPrecious Naylon (Greene Co HS, AL) earned first team honors while Vechatita Bonner (Wayne Co HS) was named to the second team with Shay Bonner (Starkville HS) earning one of three spots on the honorable mention list.
Gray, who is in her sixth year as head coach of the Lady Indians, has led her team to a 24-2 overall record and a 12-0 record in MACJC play, earning the North Division Championship during the regular season. Her squad also finished undefeated inside the state for the first time in the history of the program.
With Copiah-Lincoln making a determined effort to erase a 19-point lead, the Itawamba Lady Indians four sophomores stood strong in the face of adversity. And the reward for their fortitude -- a state championship.
The Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) office announced its 2012 Basketball Championship Tournament brackets on Friday, February 24, with the Itawamba Community College Lady Indians and Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Bulldogs topping the brackets with the No. 1 seeds.
LaPrecious Naylon scored a game-high 19 points while dishing out a game-high nine assist to go along with double-double nights from Jameika Hoskins and Vechatita Bonner in the Lady Indians (17-2, 8-0) 69-54 win over the Lady Trojans (8-10, 3-5).
In a very even-tempo, methodical effort, the Lady Indians (14-2, 5-0) saw a solid, early effort by the visiting Lady Lions, with the score tied at 15-15. From there, ICC went on a 9-0 run, helped by a 3-pointer from Jameika Hoskins, and capped by a Vechatita Bonner rebound and basket that gave the Lady Indians a 24-15 advantage.
The 5-foot-4 sophomore guard from Eutaw, Ala., scored a career-high 31 points to lead the Lady Indians to an 86-73 MACJC North Division win against the Lady Tigers before a packed Bonner Arnold Coliseum.
Sophomore point guard LaPrecious Naylon scored a team-high 23 points and dished out 11 assist while Vechatita Bonner added her own double-double performance with 17 points and 11 rebounds to help the Lady Indians improve to 9-2 in impressive fashion.
